Job Title: Volunteer Programme Coordinator (Maternity Cover)
Responsible to: Co-Director (Operations)
Salary: £16.40/hr
Contract: 16hrs/wk, one year contract; ideal start date 13th January 2025
Place of work: Based at offices in Hackney Wick, this role also involves working in community spaces across Hackney
Days of work: Flexible within the core hours of Mon-Thurs, 9am to 3pm; occasional weekend
and evening work
Closing date: Tuesday 3rd December 2024, 10am
Do you want to make a positive difference in your community? Hackney Playbus is looking for a Volunteer Programme Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to support and inspire our team of dedicated volunteers, helping us make a real impact in the lives of local families.
This role involves recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers who help us bring joy and support to young children and families through our Playbus programme. From organising celebratory events to ensuring each volunteer feels welcomed and valued, you’ll play a key role in building an inclusive, supportive environment.
We’re looking for someone who can nurture, motivate, and encourage our volunteers, making them feel part of the Hackney Playbus family. If this sound like you, apply today!

Trustee – Treasurer
We are looking for an individual with skills and experience in accounting and financial management to join our Board and to work with our Financial Director to oversee the financial affairs of the charity.
We particularly welcome trustees who reflect the cultures, ethnicities and languages of the families with whom we work with in Hackney and those with lived experience of bringing up children in challenging circumstances.
You do not have to have prior experience of being a Trustee as we will provide help, information and a friendly induction process.
This is a voluntary post. Travel and childcare costs will be covered.

Community Lunch Volunteer
We’re looking for volunteers to help out at our weekly community lunch on Tuesdays during term time, serving lunch for families and their babies and toddlers.
The venue is in N1 and we need help between 10.30am-1.30pm – you could stay for the whole thing, or just join for part of it! Tasks include setting up tables, chopping up fruit, serving lunch (it’s already made!), clearing plates and washing up.
